Acoustic Panels for Restaurants & Hospitality: Taming Noise with Wood Wool
Restaurants, bars and hospitality spaces live or die on atmosphere, and uncontrolled noise ruins it. Hard surfaces chosen for looks and hygiene, such as concrete, glass and tile, reflect sound, so a busy room quickly becomes a wall of noise where guests struggle to talk. Wood wool acoustic panels (WWCB) combine real sound absorption with the durability and finish a hospitality interior needs.
Why wood wool works in hospitality
- Absorption that lifts the experience. WWCB absorbs mid and high frequencies, taming the clatter and chatter that build up at peak service. Sonablock achieves αw 0.70 to 0.85 depending on mounting and fibre size.
- Fire safety. Hospitality venues are assembly spaces with strict fire rules. Sonablock is Class B-s1,d0 to EN 13501-1, suitable for escape routes and public rooms.
- Durable, low-maintenance surface. The cement-bonded surface is far more robust than soft foam or fabric panels and tolerates humidity, which suits kitchen-adjacent areas and covered terraces.
- Design freedom. Natural and painted finishes plus custom RAL/NCS and printed panels let you match a brand or scheme, on ceilings or as feature walls.
Where to use them
WWCB works on walls and ceilings. Typical hospitality applications: ceiling rafts or full ceilings over dining rooms, wall absorption in bars and private dining, feature and branded walls, and noisy circulation and queue areas. A 25 to 50 mm air gap behind the panels increases low-frequency absorption and calms the boom of large rooms.
