Painted wood wool cement board (WWCB) acoustic panels, also known as fibrolite, made from sustainably sourced wood fibres bound with a higher proportion of Portland cement. Sonablock FireSafe 1.5 mm is the Euroclass A2-s1,d0 (limited combustibility) grade of the Sonablock range, for projects where the standard B-s1,d0 panel is not accepted. A sustainable, EU-made wood wool panel with a distinctive tactile texture.
The 1.5 mm fibre gives the coarser, more tactile surface of the two FireSafe fibre sizes - well suited to schools, auditoriums, and public spaces where a visible wood wool texture is wanted alongside A2 fire performance.
Manufactured by Stiga RM - a PEFC-certified Latvian producer. Fire classification report issued by Kiwa (4243A / 1784 / 2026, July 2026).
Acoustic Performance
- Acoustic test data for the FireSafe grade is pending: this grade has not been tested yet, and the supplier expects the values to differ from the standard grade because of the higher cement content
- Indication only (standard B-s1,d0 grade, not FireSafe): αw 0.65 (Fibre 1.5 mm, ODS 200 mm) - Absorption Class C, tested per SS-EN ISO 354 / SS-EN ISO 11654 by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden (report O100282)
