It refers to the surface relief - a deeper, more irregular texture that mimics stone as it looks freshly quarried or hand-split, rather than polished or finished. The texture reads clearly even in flat lighting, which is what separates it from the smoother effects in the range.

Where does this texture work best?

Rough Cut suits spaces where you want the wall to feel deliberate and raw rather than refined - exposed feature walls, fireplace surrounds, entryways, and any space where a smooth stone-effect would look too polite for the rest of the room's material palette.

What to expect on install day

Installation follows the same process as our other flexible tile finishes - full-coverage adhesive, flexible grout at the joints. The deeper texture doesn't change the install method, but it's worth ordering slightly more material than a flat-finish panel to allow for texture-matching at the joints.
