How Much Sonablock Fits in a Container: 20ft & 40ft Freight Guide

Sonablock wood wool cement board (WWCB) is dense, rigid and stacks cleanly on pallets, which makes it one of the more freight-efficient acoustic materials to move internationally. If you are planning a container order, here is what actually fits, based on the real Stiga RM pallet specifications we ship every week.

Per-pallet figures

  • 25 mm panels: approximately 30.96 m² per pallet, at ~11 kg/m² (~340 kg of panels, ~370 kg gross with the pallet).
  • 15 mm panels: approximately 50.4 m² per pallet, at ~6.8 kg/m² (~343 kg of panels, ~370 kg gross).

Both thicknesses land at a similar pallet weight (~370 kg), so a container fills by volume long before it hits the road or sea weight limit.

How much fits in a container

Container 25 mm (~31 m²/pallet) 15 mm (~50 m²/pallet)
20ft ~680 m² ~1,100 m²
40ft ~1,550 m² ~2,520 m²

Figures are indicative for double-stacked pallets and depend on panel thickness, edge profile and packing. For a precise loadout we confirm against your exact specification.

Weight vs volume

A 40ft container has roughly 26–28 tonnes of payload. At ~370 kg per pallet a full 40ft load of WWCB is well under that ceiling, so the limiting factor is pallet footprint and stack height, not weight. That is good news for buyers: you can fill a container with acoustic panels without paying for unused weight allowance.

Container loads are project-priced

Container-load (FCL) orders are quoted as projects, not at the webshop rate: at full-container volumes the per-square-metre price is well below standard retail. Send us your volume and destination and we will quote project pricing together with freight.

Incoterms we support

Wall Panels Pro supplies Sonablock EXW (Tukums, Latvia), FCA, and DDP within the EU, with other Incoterms available on request. We arrange full-container (FCL) and shared-container (LCL) sea freight from the Baltics, plus EU road freight on pallets.

Plan your order

Use the Sonablock project calculator to convert your wall and ceiling areas into panels and pallets, then contact us with your destination and volume for an exact freight quote and Incoterm. Minimum order is one pallet (~31 m² at 25 mm or ~50 m² at 15 mm).
