Natural wood wool cement board (WWCB) acoustic panels, also known as fibrolite, made from sustainably sourced wood fibres bound with Portland cement. Sonablock 35mm 1.5mm delivers genuine sound absorption, Euroclass B-s1,d0 fire rating, and a durable mineral surface for demanding commercial and public interiors. A sustainable, EU-made alternative to Heraklith and Troldtekt wood wool panels.
The 1.5mm medium fibre gives a slightly more open, tactile surface than 1.0mm - a good fit for lobbies, schools, sports and leisure buildings, and open-plan spaces. The thicker 35 mm build is intended for deeper absorption at low frequencies in the same footprint: sports halls, auditoria, music rooms, and ceilings in large volumes.
Manufactured by Stiga RM - a PEFC-certified Latvian producer. Made to order: production takes about 4 weeks (not stocked).
Acoustic Performance
- Sound absorption up to αw 0.85 depending on specification, thickness and installation height (manufacturer datasheet, 35 mm)
- Independent test data: RISE Research Institutes of Sweden report O100282 (SS-EN ISO 354 / SS-EN ISO 11654) covers the 25 mm panel: αw 0.65 (Fibre 1.5 mm, ODS 200 mm)
- A test report for the 35 mm panel is not yet available - the 35 mm figure above is the manufacturer's datasheet value. Ask us for the latest test status for your project.
